Obituary of Otis Edward Crutchfield

<b>Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY</b> Versailles - Otis Edward Cruthcfield, 92, passed away peacefully on May 04, 2014 at home in Versailles, Kentucky. He was born in Escambia County, Alabama on March 02, 1922, son of James Richard Crutchfield and Dola Mae Crutchfield. He graduated from Tanner-Williams High School in Mobile, Alabama and is a veteran of both WWII and the Korean Wars. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama. He retired from Union Carbide Corp. in 1980 and served as a missionary in various countries. In 2007 he moved to Versailles to be near family and attended Versailles Methodist Church. He is survived by a sister, Pauline Cole, of Mobile; a brother, Palmer Crutchfield, of Mobile; two daughters, Mary Ann Stephens and husband, Allen, and Yvonne C. Phillips and husband, Terry; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Vantassel, Jennifer Bragdon, Shane Erdt, Taylor Wash and Christine Stephens-Bez; and 8 great grandchildren. Otis was known in his later years as someone who loved and worshipped the Lord. He was a missionary with JARS (Wycliffe Bible Translators), and Teen Missions where he traveled all over the world volunteering his services. <b>Funeral Information</b> A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in Versailles on Friday, May 16th, at 2:00PM at the Methodist Church Pavillion on Paynes Mill Road.
