One of my favorite memories of Mike was the first time I went hunting with him and Eddie down on Wildcat. They had camper down there with one bed across the top and one bed down the side. Eddie slept up top, Mike slept in the side bed and I slept in a sleeping bag on the floor. So that night we all climbed in our respective places, chatted for a few and then went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night I woke up and got the scare of my life because I thought I was getting attacked by Darth Vader from Star Wars. I knew that Mike slept with a sleeping machine but no one told me that he slept perched on his elbow so when I woke up all I seen was him up on his elbows with that mask on looking just like Vader hovering over me!! Scared the stuff out of me until I figured out what was going on! I still laugh thinking about that night! He taught me how to gut my first deer and how to shoot my first bow. He introduced me to Phillip, Shaun, Popeye and all the other great people that came down to Wildcat. He always treated me like a son I will miss him terribly! I wish I could have got him out in the boat more before he got sick. That was something that he loved to do whenever and as much as possible!
