Coach Brewer was my wrestling and football coach for several years. He pushed us to work hard and always give 110%. He mounded us into men that were positive additions to society. He would not tolerate less than your best. Disappointing him was like disappointing your own father! He was old school all the way and I am a better man for knowing him! You will be missed coach! God broke the mold when he made Coach Brewer.

Scott (Buck) was one of a kind! Lots of memories! I took a lot of heat from him when I went to Eastern and not Western! Thoughts and prayers with all!

A friend and I had driver’s ed with Coach Scott as our instructor. He was a fabulous teacher. For the written part of the course when he would give us an exam sometimes he would mark one of our answers incorrectly. We would always catch him and prove to him our answers were correct and after about three or four times of this occurring when he would pass out the exam results he would look at us and say ok ladies , “what did I get wrong today?” He was always a good sport about it and everyone in the class would get a kick out of our banter. He had so much patience with us kids. He will be missed! He was one of those teachers even though I had him for a short time that stays in your memory forever.

As a Sophomore in 1983 I decided to go out for the Wrestling Team at Lafayette. I had no idea that decision would lead to over three decades of an incredible relationship with Coach Scott Brewer where he became one of the most influential people in my life, outside my parents. Through wrestling he taught me skills I would need the rest of my life. Skills such as how to get into shape, how to set and achieve goals, how to do the non-glamorous because it was important, how to be a contributor on a team, how to take responsibility, and on and on. As my Driver's Ed instructor he literally taught me how to drive. Because of his influence, after High School I became his Assistant Coach until his retirement in 1997. And to this day my continued involvement and love of the sport are directly because of Coach Scott Brewer. Scott Brewer was my coach, my mentor, and my friend. Thank you Coach for the countless individuals you poured into. You are loved and will be deeply missed.

Scott and I were close friends for over fifty years. In many ways he was like a brother. He was one of the kindest people I have ever known and was a very good wrestling coach at Lafayette. I want his family to know that I love Coach Brewer with all my heart. I will miss him and remember him always. I am deeply saddened by his passing.

Great Coach. He was also my drivers Ed instructor. We used to take the drivers Ed car through the McDonald’s drive thru. Threatened to make me push a penny from the back of the classroom to the front with my nose. LOL. Thanks for the great memories, #41 Woods

Coach Brewer had a great impact on my life. Coach Brewer was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. He was also a fraternity man. Through numerous conversations with him my senior year at Lafayette, he convinced me to attend Western. And that I did. He set me up for life. Thanks again Coach.

Scott Brewer was one of those people who always had your back. When I was a new teacher at Lafayette, he helped me learn to laugh even when things didn’t go as planned. He was a true gentleman who will be missed.

One of the kindest person I have ever met. A great coach and mentor for the youth that was exposed to him. This world has lost a treasure.
