Doris was one of the first people I met at Kroger’s when I started . She took about 5 new hires and myself around the store and training us for cashier procedures. She knew her job well and was tough when needed to be. She always made her regular customers feel very special. I enjoyed her as a customer after she retired. She will be missed dearly. All my thoughts and prayers to her family.

Doris Ann Baker was a beautiful soul. She willingly and sacrificially shared her gifts and service as a faithful member and Organist at her beloved church. I took this picture in the kitchen of the church were she also served others so many times. Grateful to the Lord that we were able to be family.

Doris Ann was a generous, giving person. She loved to play the organ and my husband loved playing the piano while they played for Worship Service at Faith Baptist. At Christmas Time when the Choir was working extra time on a Cantata, there would be night during the week we would practice before we presented the program. Doris cooked a great meal for the whole choir, She had a group of ladies at church she called on to help her and they always had a hot meal for everyone. We usually ate so much that it was hard to sing! One of our late members Don Brewer would ask Doris to fix something for him and it was always part of the meal. Doris Ann always called me Miss Shelley, I don’t know why but I liked it, I won’t have anyone to call that anymore. I’d be willing to say Doris is cooking up something good in Heaven. In a world full of Takers, Doris was a Giver. My prayers go to her family and may the memories and knowing Doris isn’t in pain help comfort them. Doris will be missed by many.

Ms. Doris Ann was one special lady, she had a heart of gold. She loved my special needs son so much , she would bring him hot wheels several If them at a time. They would come in at Kroger where she worked and before they put them out on the shelves she would go threw them and pick the ones she wanted to give Cody and Sunday morning she would bring him three or four and one day she brought him eight. He lived Ms. Doris when I told him she had passed away he said why momma, I just said that she had been sick and God needed her. He ask today how long miss Doris been sick. Which we had been telling him she was sick but it just worries him because he had just lost his grandmother and he just don’t understand. Doris and was a wonderful cook she was over the kitchen at Faith Baptist and she always made sure when there where funerals that there was plenty of food fir the family and would make the choirs meals doing practice fir Christmas singing. She was just a wonderful lady and could really play the organ. She will be missed but we will see you again soon Ms. Doris we love you so much. Prayers for the family and friends. Hugs
