Obituary of Johnny Ethington

Johnny Ethington, 52, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The husband of Ashley Smith Ethington, Johnny was born September 27, 1971, to Lee Ethington and Henrietta Troxell Ethington in Frankfort, Kentucky. Many know him as “Tattoo Johnny”, an amazing tattoo artist, but Johnny was a “jack of all trades”. He was the life of the party, making everyone laugh; Johnny never met a stranger and would gladly give you the shirt off his back. A man who was easy to love and hard to hate.  

In addition to his wife, Ashley Smith Ethington, Johnny is survived by his children, John Ethington of Frankfort, Jacob (Destiny Marshall) Ethington of Frankfort, Alexander Ethington of Frankfort, Grayson Ethington of Frankfort, Aiden Ethington of Georgetown, and Lily Ethington of Georgetown; his sisters, Mary (Jack) Holland of Fulton and Melissa (Josh) Jacobs of Frankfort, Sydney (Brandon) Reyes of Arizona; brothers, Christopher (Angie) Ethington of Midway and Kevin Sangster of Independence; and his grandchildren, Jayce Lee Ethington and Annalilya Ethington.  

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Lee Ethington and a brother, Thomas Ethington.  

A Visitation will be held from 11:00a until 2:00p on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort.
