Obituary of Sheila Karen Purvis

Sheila Karen “Nana” Purvis, 65, passed away on April 3, 2024 at her home in Frankfort with her husband by her side.  She was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on February 8, 1959 to the late Curtis and Mary Baker. She retired after 30 years from Disability Determination Services where she made many beloved friends. Sheila enjoyed sitting on the porch, fishing, bird watching, playing cards, and cooking for her family. She loved her family more than anything in the world and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Sheila was the most wholesome, selfless person you could ever meet, and all that met her loved and adored her. 

In addition to her parents, Sheila is preceded in death by her older sister, Charlene Reed.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, I. G. “Ollie” Purvis, her nephews, David Keith Buffin of Versailles and Kelly Deane (Julie) Buffin of Georgetown, her grandbabies, Alyssa Nicole (Tyler) Popp of Frankfort and Hailey Karen Buffin of Frankfort, and her great-nieces, Grace Marie Buffin of Berea and Emily Charlene Buffin of Frankfort.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for Sheila on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Clark Legacy Center, Frankfort KY.
