Obituary of Marlyn Gale Sorge

Marlyn Gale Sorge, age 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on May 6, 2024 at home surrounded by love. Gale was born on June 9, 1946 in Grafton, WV. He met and married his bride Janet Sams upon returning from serving his country in Vietnam. He was an avid golfer and fulfilled his dream of playing the Old Course in Scotland. Along with golf, Gale enjoyed nature and hunting. He and Janet shared their cabin home with many family and friends.

Gale loved his Heavenly Father and his country and adored his children and grandchildren.

Gale is preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Harold Sorge. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, his children Chris, Chad (Carrie), Caryn, grandchildren McKenna, Cameryn, Braden, Bryn and Emma Kate and one great grandson Dawson. He is also survived by his sister Kathy (Wesley) Moats and brother Leon (Francis) Sorge. Other precious family includes Stephen and Annie Sams and Andrea McCay.
