Obituary of Jack L. Lane
Jack L. Lane of Lexington, Kentucky passed away on November 25, 2023 after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Lexington, Jack graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1960. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. Upon returning to Lexington, he graduated from Eastern Kentucky University-College of Law Enforcement. In December 1964, Jack joined the Lexington Metro Police Department where he retired in 1983.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lillian Cornett Lane. His children Kristie Schneider (Erich) Lexington, Kentucky, Brittany Fuller Lexington, Kentucky and Jack Shannon Lane (Angela), North Richland Hills, Texas. Grandchildren Lilly and Delaney Schneider, Lexington, Kentucky, Amelia and Ashlyn Fuller, Lexington, Kentucky and Sydney Lane-New Orleans, Louisiana, Jack Ryan Lane and Joshua Lane, North Richland Hills, Texas. He is also survived by his special cousin, Donna Ward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Freeda Cundiff, his beloved aunt Cella and his grandparents Ben and Anna Cundiff.
Jack enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a master gunsmith, accomplished marksman and an avid reader. He was most proud of his family which he loved very much.
The family would like to thank all of his caring doctors and the staff at Baptist Health Lexington.
