Obituary of Gary Wayne Lynn

Gary Wayne Lynn, age 74, passed away on November 15, 2023. He was born on Christmas Day, 1948, to James Lynn and Evelyn Littrell Lynn Whitledge. After graduating from Franklin County High School in 1967, he spent the majority of his work life as an electrical and building inspector for the City of Frankfort and Franklin County. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Forrest Whitledge and stepmother Lonell Lynn. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Glenda Cunningham Lynn, and his children Kimberly [Bill] Booze, Kathy [Otto] Ramlee and Karen Lynn, stepchildren Rebecca Comley [Michael] and Max [Ashley] Comley and sister Shelly [Shane] McGee and beloved cousin Susan Long. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Katelyn [Noel], Kienan, Lakin, Jared, Sophia, Cash, and Lynnin. 

Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He also loved camping and fishing trips with friends and working on his antique cars. Numerous old cars passed through his garage during his lifetime, his favorite being a 1957 Chevy two-door hardtop. Gary was known for his good humor and friendliness to anyone he met, and many have stopped by over the years to visit him in his garage. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort. Pallbearers will be family members.  Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any Veteran’s organization or to the Frankfort L.I.F.E House for Animals.
