Obituary of Arvin Ray Webster
Arvin Ray Webster, age 96, passed peacefully on the morning of October 22, 2023.
Arvin was the eldest of four children born to the late Elmer and Mae (Wainscott) Webster, and he was a lifelong resident of Duckers community in Woodford County, where he was often found working on his farm and helping his neighbors in various ways, even well into his nineties. He loved his family and friends immensely, was always welcoming to others, was the greatest of storytellers, and had an impressive knack for engineering creative fixes for life’s problems.
On February 2, 1946, the greatest of love stories began when Arvin married the love of his life, Christine Mitchell Webster. The two shared a beautiful life together for more than 70 years until she passed in 2016. They raised four wonderful children, who they loved dearly, and they spent countless, treasured hours with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many others they counted as family. If you visited with them, you didn’t leave hungry or without a smile.
Arvin was a member of the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, and he was a retiree of IBM and a lifelong farmer.
Other than his loving wife and parents, Arvin was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Webster, a sister Hattie (Webster) Rice both of Frankfort, and great-grandchildren: Matthew Spencer Maye, an infant and Katelyn and Ashton Glawson.
Arvin is survived by his children, Lonnie and Ada (Holbrook) Webster of Blowing Rock, North Carolina; Dianne (Webster) and Jerry Stephens of Frankfort; Michael and Susan (Conway) Webster of Lawrenceburg, Mike Mitchell of Frankfort one sister, Annie Webster, Frankfort native, currently of Blowing Rock, NC and one sister-in-law, Kathleen Webster of Frankfort.
Additionally, he is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who are very grateful for their Papaw/Poppy and the impact he had on their lives, a legacy for generations. Grandchildren: Jamie (Wanda), Grady, Kenny (Stacey), Lori (Dale), Tara (Frank), Angie (Greg), Carrie (Daniel), Natalie (Dennis), Jimmy. Great-grandchildren: Noah (Landin) Chrystian (Leah), Chelsey (Jon), Chloe, Christine (Lucas), Dylan, Lauren, Austin, Fiona, Jillian, Raegan, Haley (Eric), Weston, Bryson, Jason (Kyla) and Jackson. Great-great grandchildren: Sadie, Killian, and Luna.
