Obituary of Rexie B Douglas

Mrs. Rexie B. Douglas passed away peacefully in her home with her beloved husband Bill and son, Keith at her side.  

Rexie was born June 1, 1947, to Henry and Jenny Lee Thurman. She was one of ten children and eight of her siblings survive her.  

Rexie met her husband Bill when she was 18 years old, and they married in 1968. They had three children, Keith Douglas of Frankfort, Kevin Douglas of Virginia, and Brooke (Chris) Groves of Frankfort. Her husband and children survive her.  

Other survivors include her grandchildren; Dane Douglas, Audrey Stewart, Kennedy Douglas, and Bailey Riley, great grandchildren; Mia Feeback and Adilynn Janie and Mia Stewart.  

Having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Rexie required constant ongoing care and companionship for a number of years before her death. Her husband Bill and son Keith were tireless in providing for her needs. Special thanks is also extended to Bill’s sisters Ann Peach and Shirley Gross for their time, love and care of Rexie and their assistance over the last several years has been priceless.  

Prior to her illness, Rexie enjoyed playing Bingo, and going to the gambling boats, motorcycle rides, and watching sports. Everyone who knew her will tell you that Rexie loved to laugh and enjoyed cooking for and caring for others. She will be remembered for these things and so many more.  

Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort. The funeral service will begin at 11am with Chuck Fletcher to officiate and burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens will be held after the service at 12pm.
