Obituary of Sylvia Manning McGaughey

Sylvia Manning McGaughey, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The wife of the late James McGaughey, Sylvia was born November 29, 1943, to the late Goebel and Ivora Vest Manning in Rowan County, Kentucky.  

Sylvia is survived by her children, Becky (Joe) Waters of Versailles and Shannon (Gwen) McGaughey of Frankfort; her sisters Bobbie (Gary) Ferguson and Kay Manning; a brother, Lowell (Jody) Manning; grandchildren, Craig (Teri) Copas, Ashley (Marc) Wilson, and Grace (Matthew Tingle) McGaughey; and her great-grandchildren, Callan Wilson and Lexi Connor.  

In addition to her loving husband, James McGaughey and parents, Goebel and Ivora Vest Manning, Sylvia was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Mullen.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Rev. Josh Rayborn officiating. A Visitation will be held from 2:00pm until the time of service on Monday, at the funeral home.
