Obituary of Linda Dempsey-Hall
Linda Dempsey-Hall, age 72, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 surrounded by her devoted and loving husband and family. She was born on February 7, 1951, along with her womb-mate Laura, to the late Rosalie and Frederick Dempsey. After being raised as an army “brat”, she graduated from Woodford Co High School, and received her bachelor's and master's degrees of nursing from the University of Kentucky. Nursing was Linda’s vocation, never a job. Linda was gifted with a unique sense of adventure and her ability to find fun wherever she went. She loved the thrill of skydiving and the hard work of being a cowgirl/nurse in Montana, as well as scuba diving in many areas of the Caribbean, sea cruising and vacations with her husband, friends and family to destinations around the world. She never met a stranger.
Linda is survived by her steadfast and loving husband of 45 years, Jon G. Hall Sr, her son Jon G. Hall Jr (Brandy) and the light of her eyes, grandchildren Jameson and Bailey Hall. She will be forever missed by her siblings Larry (Terry) Dempsey of Longmont, Co., Terry (Diann) Dempsey of Grayson, Ga., her twin sister and best friend Laura (Bob) Riddle of Midway Ky., Debbie (Charlie) Edwards of Edinboro, PA and John Dempsey of Lexington, Ky. In addition, she leaves behind her in-laws Melody (Bill) Sessums of Clayton, NC., and Noel (Kathy) Hall of Louisville, Ky. EAL also left behind many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved, as well as her long-time nursing friends. Linda enjoyed the gift of many true and devoted friends, especially Pilar Espinosa and Bonnie Jackson, and all who took such good care of Linda.
Those of us who knew, and loved Linda will forever have a hole in our hearts that she had occupied so brilliantly.
