Obituary of Barry Lee Spivey

Barry Lee Spivey, 54, passed away August 24, 2023 in Lexington. He was born in Lexington on February 11, 1969 to the late Hoford and Marcella Spivey. Barry worked in the equestrian industry for many years.  

He is survived by his children, Dylan (Debra) Spivey and Brittany Spivey; his grandson, Rhett Spivey; and his former wife, Dawn Spivey.  

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his siblings, Treasa Anderson, Bobby Spivey, Tammy Robinson, and Debra Snelling.  

Barry loved UK, NASCAR, and boxing. He was a kind man with a heart of gold, but loved to give people a hard time. He was very family oriented and loved to tell stories.  

A memorial service will be held for Barry on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 2pm till 5pm at the Tates Creek Ball Room, 1400 Gainesway Dr. Lexington, KY 40517. All whom loved him are welcome to attend.
