Obituary of Madge Wilburn

Madge Wilburn, 83, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. The daughter of the late Chester Russel and Aretta Reed Freeman, Madge was born June 1, 1940, in Stanton, Kentucky. She was a former employee of Kuhlman Electric who loved to shop, travel and spend time with her sisters, talking on the phone and watching their shows. Madge was a woman who just enjoyed life and was a hoot to be around. 

She is survived by her children, Patricia “Boss Baby Teresa” Wilburn of Frankfort, Freida (Ronnie) Moore of Lawrenceburg, Mona (Scott) Buffin of Willisburg, Charles (Lesha) Wilburn of Lawrenceburg, and David (Pam) Wilburn of Frankfort; her sisters, Junie Russel of Versailles, Sue Cochran of Versailles, and Molly Rogers of Lawrenceburg; 19 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.  

In addition to her parents, Chester Russel and Aretta Reed Freeman, Madge was preceded in death by a sister and 4 brothers. 

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort with Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ricky Crowe, Jeromy Wilburn, Charles Wilburn, II, Brian Wilburn, Michael Roberts, Dwayne Roberts, Kevin Roberts, Daniel Rogers, and Chris Richie serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
