Obituary of Frank Lane

Frank Lane, 91, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. The loving husband of Ellen Charlebois Lane, Frank was born October 25, 1931, to the late N.E. Lane and Edna Lendy Lane in Van, Texas. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, having served in the Korean War, and worked as a service technician for AT&T for more than 30 years. Frank was extremely family oriented with a fantastic sense of humor making it hard for him to meet a stranger. He loved people and social gatherings and was an avid motorcyclist.  

In addition to his wife, Ellen, Frank leaves behind his children, Katherine (Bolar) Brown of Kansas and Craig Lane of Texas; a sister, Mary Kaiser of Indiana; sisters in law, Becky Lane, Eileen (Dean) Underwood of Indiana, Pat (Marty) Charlebois of Illinois, and Linda Charlebois of Indiana; and a brother in law, Tom Charlebois of Indiana; his grandson, Bolar “Austin” Brown, III; a great grandson, Bolar “Bo” Austin Brown, IV; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, N.E. Lane and Edna Lendy Lane; a son, Keith Lane; sisters, Thelma Lane and Esther Combs; a brother, David Lane; and brothers in law, Ralph Combs, Guy Kaiser, and Robert Charlebois.  

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at 5:00pm on August 25, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Military Honors at 6:00pm. 

A Celebration of Life will be held for Frank in Indianapolis, Indiana at a later date.  

The family requests no flowers or gifts, but suggests Memorial Contributions be made in Frank’s Memory to the Franklin County Humane Society, 100 Champion Place, Frankfort, KY 40601; the American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org; or a Veteran’s Organization of your choice.
