Obituary of Donna Young Hockensmith

Donna Young Hockensmith, 68, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. The widow of Stephen “Steve” Hockensmith, Donna was born April 1, 1955, to the late Ray and Ann Cheser Young in Frankfort, Kentucky. She enjoyed her time camping at the Kentucky RV Park, but her grandchildren were her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than seeing smiles on their faces and watching them grow.  

Donna leaves behind her children, Michael (Glenna) Hockensmith of Frankfort and Jonathan (Mandi) Hockensmith of Frankfort; sisters, Wynee (Robby) Hecker of Frankfort and Phyllis (Steve) Slaughter of Bever Dam; her brother, Ricky (Kaye) Young of Frankfort; grandchildren, Danielle Hockensmith, Lacey Hockensmith, Kaylee Hockensmith, and Koleman Hockensmith; as well as her precious fur babies, Gracie and Bentley.  

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steve Hockensmith and parents, Ray and Ann Cheser Young.  

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00p, Friday, August 18, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Bro. Jay Stratton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort with Derrick Young, Corey Young, Shane Hecker, Cody Hecker, Brandon McClain, Thomas Hockensmith, Nathan Hockensmith, and Chris Anglin serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00a until the time of service Friday, at the funeral home.
