Obituary of Melinda Milligan Brodt

Melinda Milligan Brodt, 75, the wife of Steve Brodt, passed away on Saturday, July 8. 2023. The daughter of the late George and Norma Lancaster Milligan, Melinda was born February 27, 1948, in Lexington, KY. She retired from the Plant Board after more than 20 years of service to the Frankfort community. She enjoyed raising a flower garden full of bright beautiful colors and watching the hummingbirds flutter in and out. Family nights were Melinda’s favorite, swimming in the pool, games, and of course cookouts with her world-famous mac n’ cheese were treasured moments. She loved her grandchildren and was the BEST MooMoo they could have asked for.  

In addition to her loving husband of 44 years, Steve Brodt, Melinda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Clatos of Frankfort and Michelle (David) Paul of Georgetown; a brother, George Milligan, III of Lexington; her grandchildren, Tyler Clatos, Breanna Hendrickson, Kathryn Clatos, Adison Paul, and Lillian Brock; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, as well as extended family members.  

Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Norma Lancaster Milligan and a sister-in-law, Linda Milligan.  

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, KY, with Pastor Mike Napier officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers.
