Obituary of Cordia L. Cole Hardy

Cordia peacefully departed this life on July 4, 2023, at 5:29 p.m. at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. 

Cordia was born in Madison County, to Frank and Ether Adams Hendricks on July 15, 1924. She is the last surviving child born to them. She is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-eight years, George W. Pauly Cole, and two sons, Terry Lee Cole, Kenneth Wade Cole, and grandson Timothy Hampton Cole. She had five siblings, Ellen Hendricks Pennington, William Preston Hendricks, Marie Hendricks Pennington, Lucille Hendricks McFarland, and Yvonne Hendricks Brockman King. Cordia is survived by her daughter, Jean Cole Burgin of Frankfort. She also has nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Madison County and Ohio. 

Cordia was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Richmond. She retired from Dawhare’s as a seamstress. 

A private graveside service and interment will be held at the Madison County Memorial Gardens in Richmond, Kentucky on Friday, July 7, 2023, family members will serve as pallbearers.
