Obituary of David Gipson

David Gipson Jr., passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Frankfort, KY. Husband of Heather Gipson, native of Frankfort, he was born on April 4, 1972, to David Gipson Sr. And Deborah Harrod Gipson. David was a superintendent for the City of Frankfort Street Department for many years.  

David was an avid sports fan. Bengals fan, UK basketball and would never miss a UK Football game with his father in law. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. David liked anything outdoors and was great with the grill. A true family man, David was a wonderful Pappy to his sweet grandbaby, Amelia Rose, whom he spoiled, and enjoyed swimming with his grand baby whenever she wanted.  

David is preceded in death by his first wife, Ladonna Gipson, paternal grandparents, Garrent and George Gipson, and maternal grandparents Russell Harrod, and Irene Tate.  

David is survived by his loving wife, Heather Gipson of Frankfort; parents David and Deborah Gipson; son Marc Goodrich of Frankfort; daughter Morgan Mitchell of Frankfort; sister Maria (Todd) Sutherland of Frankfort;  niece, Kaycee Sutherland; nephew, Jarrod Sutherland; two great nieces Nova and Ellie Annhis; and beloved granddaughter Amelia Rose.    

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort. Visitation will begin at 11am until the time of service at 1pm at Clark Legacy Center, A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2pm.
