Obituary of Carolyn Marie Lincavage
Carolyn Marie Lincavage, 80, wife of the late Thomas David Lincavage, passed away on June 1, 2023, in Lexington, Kentucky. Carolyn (also known as Kelly to her siblings and their families) was born in Kearney, Nebraska on Christmas Day in 1942 to the late Mary and Carl “Bob” Young. Her family moved to California where Carolyn met Tom, her high school sweetheart. They married in 1967 and began the adventure of their life together raising four children. She had a successful career as an Escrow Officer with numerous companies over the years. Carolyn and Tom retired and moved to Kentucky where they enjoyed their time with family. Carolyn’s legendary smile and infectious laughter always made her long story short even better. During her conversations, she would inevitably get lost in the weeds as she needed to make sure to give you all the details! She LOVED big and LAUGHED hard, even when situations were tough. Carolyn loved her children and adored her grandchildren! Family was the core and heartbeat of Carolyn’s life. She was a true inspiration to all of us, accepting and nonjudgmental, she would try to help you find the silver lining. She felt that everything happened for a reason, whether you knew why didn’t matter as much as believing that life was exactly the way it was supposed to be.
In addition to her husband of 45 years, and her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers; Doug, and Tom Young.
She is survived by her children; Julie (Tim) O’Neil, John (Melodie) Lincavage, Kellie (Myron) Pedroche, and Michael Lincavage; her grandchildren; Connor, Mary Catherine, and Lily O’Neil, Andrew, Thomas, Kiara, Colton, and Collin Lincavage, Jared, Austin, Tanner, and Noah Pedroche, Nicholas, Bryce, and Gavin Lincavage; her siblings, Judy (Mike) Willis, John (Angie) Young, Jim (Rochelle) Young, sisters-in-law, Sue, and Val Young, along with a host of other beloved family members.
A memorial mass will be held for Carolyn at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church on Friday, June 30th at 11 am. Visitation will begin at 10 am, before mass.
