Obituary of Nancy Antoinette Murphy

Nancy Antoinette (Kappel) Murphy of Lexington, Kentucky passed peacefully on Thursday, June 1 at the age of 84. She was born on March 7, 1939 to the late Frank Joseph and Josephine Antoinette (Boccia) Kappel. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She graduated from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, Dayton, Ohio in 1960 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Kentucky. She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Fayette County Health Department

She is survived by her husband of 61 years: William Murphy, 3 children: Kathleen (James) Beene, Diane (Ken) Redmon, and David (Debra) Murphy, and 6 grandchildren: Noah and Grace Beene, Megan and Sarah Redmon, and Daniel and Caroline Murphy, and 4 siblings: Ray, Paul, Susan, and Don.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 2-5pm at Clark Legacy Center, 601 E Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY 40356. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 26 at 11am at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 299 Colony Blvd, Lexington, KY 40502.
