Obituary of Charlotte Ann Clark Downey

Charlotte Ann Clark Downey, 75, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. The widow of Franklin C. Downey, Charlotte was born October 10, 1947, to the late Lester Jack and Mary Sheets Clark in Frankfort, Kentucky. A wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, she enjoyed gardening, traveling to the beach, and getting together with family and friends. She was a faithful member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church in Midway, Kentucky. 

Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Blankenship of Frankfort and Jennifer (Mike) Swan of Frankfort; stepsons, Jason Downey of Frankfort, and Tony Stigers of Carrollton; a sister, Patricia Denise Graves of Frankfort; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, Franklin C. Downey and her parents, Lester Jack and Mary Sheets Clark, Charlotte was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Ladonna Gipson; a brother, Roy Clark; and her beloved Australian Shephard, Baby.  

A Graveside Service will be held 12:30p, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions to the Franklin County Humane Society or a Veterans Organization of your choice.
