Obituary of Iva Prather

Iva Jean Prather, 87, widow of Wilson Ray Prather, Sr., passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. She was born in Madison County, Kentucky on May 20, 1935, to the late Mary Shanks and Stanford Davis. Mrs. Prather was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Malinda (Jerry) Jump, Nancy (Bobby) Reed, Sandy (Donnie) Hamilton; sons, Wilson “JR” (Joy) Prather, Richard (Renee) Prather, Glenn Prather; sisters, Stella Anderson, Madeline Reece; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, with two on the way; and a special friend, Kim.  

In addition to her husband of 65 years, she is preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Hobbs; and brothers, Edward Davis, Homer (Willie) Davis, Chester Davis and Jimmy Davis.  

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 5-8PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Funeral service will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 1PM, Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, Pastor Jay Webb, and Basil Hall will be officiating, with a one-hour visitation starting before the funeral time. Graveside will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY at 2:30PM 

Serving as casket bearers will be Mrs. Prather’s seven grandsons.
