Obituary of Charles A. Curd

Lexington - Charles A. Curd, Sr, 90, passed away on April 2, 2023 at Thompson Hood Veterans Center.  Charles was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on April 20, 1932 to the late Charles S. and Ruby Hatchell Curd. He was in banking for many years with First Security Bank and was a veteran of the United States Airforce.

Charlie was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who had an adventurous soul and an unbelievable passion for UK football and basketball.  He loved the water and spent most of his young and adult life around Herrington Lake.  He loved boating and teaching his 6 kids to water ski.  He was also an entrepreneurial who owned and operated many businesses throughout his life.  He will be missed by his entire family.  

Survivors include his children, Debbie Conley, Linda (Laura Harris) Curd, Charles A. (Jennifer) Curd, Michael (Jewel) Curd and Mitchell Curd, all of Lexington. In addition, his grandchildren, Nathan (Sally) Curd, Rachel Curd, Aaron Curd, Sawyer Curd, Sullivan Curd, Hagan Curd and Oakley Curd, great grandchildren, Everly Curd, Acadia Curd, Joni Curd and Everett Popham.

Internment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with only a private family service.

Donations to Salvation Army would be appreciated in lieu of gifts or flowers.
