Obituary of Kim Smith

Kim Smith, 58, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. The wife of Alan Smith, Kim was born October 9, 1964, to the late James Workman and Julia Wilson Workman in Ashland, Kentucky. She was not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, but a friend to all whom had the good fortune to meet her. Her quick wit, her southern habit of referring to everyone as “Honey” and “Baby,” and her infectious smile were hard to resist. Kim was a 1982 Graduate of Frankfort High School and enjoyed attending First Christian Church in Frankfort. She enjoyed thrift shopping, kayaking, and cooking, all made better with the presence of her family. Kim loved her family above all things and being a “Granna”.    

In addition to her husband of 18 years, Alan Smith, Kim is survived by her mother, Julia “Judy” Wilson Workman; her daughter, Julia (Jeremy) Triplett of Frankfort; sons, Alex (Kelsey) Clark of Frankfort and Jacob Clark of Frankfort; a sister, Ann (Tim) Willard of Frankfort; and her granddaughters, Harper Triplett, Reagan Triplett, and one on the way.  

Kim was preceded in death by her father, James Workman. 

A Gathering of Family of Friends will be held from 4:00p - 7:00p, Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with a Closing Prayer at 7:00p, officiated by Rev. Todd Lester.
