Obituary of David "Seanro" Canty

David “Seanro” Canty, 70, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023. The son of the late Edward and Doris Smith Canty, David was born July 4, 1952, in Lexington, Kentucky. A farmer, he loved spending time cutting and collecting firewood daily, taking breaks amidst his task to target shoot. As a child, David attended St. Leo Catholic School in Versailles, Kentucky, then Woodford County High School. Later, David graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in general studies.  

He is survived by his siblings, Mary Canty (Bill) Hall of Frankfort, Michael E. Canty of Frankfort, and Paul P. Canty of Frankfort; and his nieces, Elizabeth Cox of AZ, Victoria Hall of AZ, Alexandra Bell of AZ, and Shawn Hicks of VA.  

David was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Doris Smith Canty. 

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00a on Friday, March 31, 2023, at St. Leo Catholic Church in Versailles, Kentucky, with Father Chris Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky.
