Obituary of Barbara Osten

Barbara Osten, 78, wife of the late Earl Thomas Osten, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. She was born in Lexington, KY on December 16, 1944 to the late Della Adams and J.W. Bruner. Mrs. Osten was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, Nicholasville, KY and had worked for many years for Square D. She was a member on the Jessamine County Fair Board as well as Jessamine County Beef Cattleman's.  

In Mrs. Osten’s spare time, she loved cooking, canning and gardening. She spent a lot of time with her many friends in her “4-H moms homemaker” club and she also enjoyed riding horses as a young lady.  

Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughter, Jennifer Lapasnick; brother, James “Jay” (Katrinka) Bruner; sister-in-law, Pat Bruner; grandchildren, Faith Hempy, Jadon Lapasnick; great grandchild, Casimir Hempy; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her husband of 50 plus years, and her parents, she is preceded by two brothers, Lloyd Thomas Bruner, and Phillip Wayne Bruner.  

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 4-7PM at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Funeral service will be Monday, March 6, 2023, at 11AM with a one-hour visitation starting that morning at 10AM until the start of the funeral. Officiating the service will be, Pastor Steven Gray, and Roy Lauter. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 12:30PM arrival time. 

Serving as casketbearers will be Doug Dunaway, Les Hurt, Chris Reynolds, Robert Mcmenama, Tag Huffman, and John Conn. Mrs. Osten’s fellow 4-H moms homemakers club, and Eugene Edwards are honorary casketbearers.
