Obituary of Joseph Adams Byers

Joseph A. "Jobie" Byers, 85, husband of Sharon Richardson Byers, passed away on February 3, 2023, in Lexington.  He was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania on July 14, 1937, to the late Joseph and Ethel Adams Byers. He was a veteran of the United States Airforce. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Byers Figgs, son, Jace (Laura) Byers, grandchildren, Zuri Earl, Leo Figgs, and Jonas Faulkner, sister, Judith Tarr of Latrobe, nieces and nephews, Douglas, Christa and Carrie.

Memorial services will be Sunday February 12, 2023, 3pm,  at the Unitarian Universalist Church led by Rev. Brian Chenowith.  Visitation will be prior the service beginning at 2:00pm. A reception will follow the service at the church. 

A memorial service is also planned in Latrobe, PA at the Springhill Suites at 11am on Friday February 17, 2023.  Burial will be in Salisbury, MD.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: The Little Mountain School and the Catholic Action Center.

Joe/Dad/Jobie lived an amazing life and loved us all so very much.  We will miss him.
