Obituary of Darletha A. Steele Clark

Darletha Ann Clark, 64, widow of Lawrence Clark, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 following a long illness under the care of Frankfort Regional Medical Center Hospice Care Unit. She was born November 16, 1958 to the late H. Maxine Parrish and the late Harold Steele Sr. Darletha was a graduate of Franklin County High School than attended the University of Eastern Co. She worked for the Commonwealth of KY Division of Building Code Enforcement as an Administrative Specialist III for over 20 years, during that time she worked with her best friend, Layhoma Roberts, whom she loved and they were always there for each other. She accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church on Clinton Street under the late Rev. L. K. Moore.

Darletha was a mother to many of her nephews friends, they all called her Aunt Lee and she was loved dearly. She was an amazing big sister/mom to Dionne. She couldn’t had been given a better person to be her sister and auntie to Dionne’s two sons. Darletha spoiled everyone with unconditional love; she cared deeply for her family and friends; and a kind and gentle person. Darletha was quiet until she got to know you, if she like you, you would most definitely know it.

She is survived by her sister, Dionne Parrish; her brothers, Mike Jacobs and Randall (Kim) Steele; her nephews, Michael (Trista) Chenault, Brandon (Alanna) Smith, and Allen Steele; special nephew, Donald Jackson; her great nieces, MaKaylie Chenault, Tinsely Chenault, Nova Grace Chenault, Adriana Steele, and Ariana Steele; her great nephews, Zaiden Smith, Zae’Vion Smith, Zamarion Smith, Randall Steele Jr, LaMarcus Steele, Demetrius Steele, and Evren Steele; as well as her special aunt, Wanda Sue Hines.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Steele III.
