Obituary of Wayne Brandenburg

Wayne Brandenburg, 83, husband of the late Sara Brandenburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was born on May 6, 1939, to the late Gus and Mollie Anderson Brandenburg in Versailles, KY. Mr. Brandenburg was a farmer and a member of First Christian Church, where he always enjoyed attending from a young age. Sara and Wayne enjoyed camping with friends and family, playing cards, and traveling. He loved all things fishing, having an extensive lure and bait collection, enjoyed boats of all kinds, and car shows. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, even a stranger on the side of the road. A wonderful husband, dad and granddaddy, and a great friend to all who knew him. Mr. Brandenburg was an honorable gentleman that will be missed by many. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Robert (Kristy) Brandenburg; granddaughter, Kendall Brandenburg all of Versailles. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kara Beth Brandenburg.  

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Craig Mount, Chris Brown, Mike Bivins, Jerry Cornett, Jeff Wilson and Bill Craig, Honorary casketbearers will be Frank Snipp, John Owen Range, Kit Hudson and Coleman Brown. Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 5-7PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford County Humane Society.  www.clarklegacycenter.com
