Obituary of Dian Sue Knight

Dian Sue Jarrell Knight, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was born in Raleigh County, West Virginia on July 8, 1944. Dian retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Parks and Recreation. She ran the film office for Kentucky for several years and was instrumental in providing locations and specialized period pieces. This might include finding a 1930’s era milk truck or just the perfect country church. She enjoyed reading, especially historical works.

She is survived by her mother, Wanda Lacey; her sons, Phillip Sean Wright, David Diaz both of Frankfort, and Ian Wright of Lexington; her brother, Joe Jarrell of Lexington; her sister, Debra Ison of Frankfort; as well as two nephews, three great-nephews, and one great niece.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Jarrell.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 2pm preceded by visitation from 1-2 pm at First United Methodist Church, 211 Washington Street, Frankfort.
