I am so proud of my Nana. What a life well lived. What a beautiful example she is of strength, dedication, sacrifice, resilience, independence, selflessness, and love.
I know I will always carry her love with me but I feel the absence of her warmth so heavily.
She was our biggest cheerleader. Always so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
I will forever remember our sleepovers together. Picking out a movie at blockbuster and ordering pizza and having a girls night.
I will always remember her teaching me how to sew. She made so many beautiful things. My Nana was outrageously talented. Whether she was making wedding dresses, Halloween costumes, or clothes for my dolls, she always signed her work, “With love, from Nana.” And that couldn’t have been more true, everything she made was made from her love.
I will forever miss our talks about what was going on in the world, or what was going on in my life. She was such a great listener. She always showed concern and care and spoke the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. She always had your back.
She was a rock. So strong. So smart.
I am so thankful for the time I had with her. She was the biggest blessing to all who knew her.
I love you a bushel and a peck Nana. You are forever in my heart and I can’t wait until I see you again one day.
Jesus give her a big hug from me. I miss her so.

Sweet Nana. She was truly one of a kind, the world was a better place because she was in it. Growing up playing sports with Brittany and Nicole, and our life long friendship that came from that, Nana was one of our biggest cheerleaders, friends, supporters, and Nana. A few years ago before Covid hit I ran into her at Kroger I think it was. I made the mistake of calling her by her name, she gave me a very stern look and said- “Miss Amy, I have known you your entire life, you know better than to call me Barbara!” I felt two feet tall and replied with “Yes Nana, I’m sorry.” Then we laughed and she hugged me.
To my Kjelland family, please know that you are in our thoughts, our prayers, and our hearts as you navigate through this time of grief. I love you all.
