Obituary of Ralph William "Skip" Blakeman

Ralph W. (Skip) Blakeman, Jr. died on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 following a 14 year battle against Parkinson’s Disease. He was born October 24, 1946 to Ralph W. Blakeman and Marjorie Norvell Blakeman in Lexington, Kentucky. He is survived by his Wife of 49 years, Jane Ann Atwell Blakeman, a Son, Thomas W. (Karen) Blakeman, a Brother, William Wayne Blakeman, a Granddaughter, Melinda Blakeman, and two Grandsons, Joshua Combs, and Christopher Sparks. He was preceded in death by a Daughter, Sabrina Lyn Blakeman and a Granddaughter, Emmaleigh Jane Blakeman. Skip enjoyed fishing, bee keeping, backpacking, scuba diving, motorcycling, and traveling. He retired from Columbia Gas (25 years) and the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, Traffic Engineering Division (10 years) as an electronic technician for both. He was a Mason and former member of the Pyramid Club. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Road on Thursday, December 08, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.
