Obituary of Ralph Benton Rector

Ralph Benton Rector, 93, of Lexington, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at his daughter’s home in Nicholasville. He was born in Junction City, KY on October 4, 1929 to the late Lena Atwood Prewitt and William Grey Rector. Mr. Rector was a veteran of the United States Army and had served in the Korean War. He also worked as a credit manager for Pieratt's.  

He was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Mr. Rector was very involved in service and worked with Habitat for Humanity and was in charge of the Irishtown Mission for many years.  

Mr. Rector is survived by his daughter, Sandy Eversole; son, Bill Rector; grandchildren, Jason Scott Rector, Joshua Wayne Rector, Jordan Gregory Rector, Brandon Michael Rector, Rachel Lynn Rector; great grandchildren, Kayla Heaven Rector, Corey Benton Rector, Cameron Scott Rector, Jason Kingston Rector, Hayden Gregory Rector, Heidi Marie Smallwood, Ronan King Rector,  Kaelynne Grace Hacker; special daughter in law, Cheryl Lynn Rector and granddaughter in law, Amy Sue Rector; and his wonderful neighbors, Jerry and Gayle Provence.  

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Kitty Lou Rector; siblings, James Rector, Harold Rector, Leslie Rector, Evelyn Logsdon-Leach, Elizabeth “Dickie” Cross, Louise Lairson; and a great grandson, Hunter Wayne Rector.  

A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing from 5PM-8PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1PM,  Clark Legacy Center, graveside following the funeral with military honors at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Nicholasville, KY at 2PM.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to God’s Pantry.
