Jane Curtis

Obituary of Jane Marie "Jami" Curtis

Beloved daughter of James and Mary Margaret Curtis. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Mark Curtis and Rick Curtis.

She leaves behind to mourn her two fine sons, Nicholas Dugan Chafin and Jacob Curtis Chafin. She loved her boys more than anything in the world. Jami was an avid baseball mom to Nick and a proud marching band mom to Jake. She has two surviving siblings, John Curtis and Cathy Vittitow. They loved their little sister all their lives and will cherish her memory forever. She was a second mother to niece, Ella Jane Vittitow, who will soon follow in her footsteps as a registered nurse.

A very special mention is extended to the Atkins Family, the Murphy Clan, and special friend Mary Ellen Shields.

Jami held dear to her heart her extended Curtis Family.

Jami Graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1997 with her ASN degree. After a short time with Saint Joseph Hospital, she worked at Baptist Health Lexington from 1998 to 2022. She earned her BSN degree in 2018. She loved her work family and cared deeply for her patients.

Jami was a fantastic cook, loved her flowers and birds at her feeders, especially the hummingbirds.

She loved going on beach trips, her favorites being Dauphin Island & Anna Maria Island.

Jami was a big UK Basketball fan and was known to enjoy a Markers & 7 with a squeeze of lemon.

Finally, she adored her dogs over the years, especially her German shepherds. Bear and Bella were her last Shepherds and were by her side to the end.
