Obituary of Joyce Glass

Joyce May (Glover) Glass, 94 years old passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at her home at Daisy Hill Senior Living.  She was born September 29, 1928 in Grapevine KY to Floyd and Daisy May Glover.

She was preceded in death by 8 siblings and survived by sister, Floedith Stiel, Texas.

Joyce was married to the love of her life Ralph Glass, who preceded her in death on August 15, 1998, just shy of celebrating 50 years together.  They met at a small diner in Dawson Spring, KY. She was working and he came in after playing in a high school basketball game. During their 5 year courtship she attended Louisville Baptist College to become a Register Nurse and he served in the US Navy before marrying in April, 1949.

Joyce is the loving and amazing mother of 6 children, Ralph Glass (Marsha Glass) of Versailles, KY, Greg Glass, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2019, Karen Brown (Daryl Brown) of Lawrenceburg, KY, Becky Barnott (Fred Barnott), of Keene, KY, Kathy Bachman (Tim Bachman) of Versailles, KY and Jeff Glass (Jenny Glass) of Oakdale, TN.

She has 25 grandchildren, 1 grandson who preceded her in death and 18 great grandchildren.

Joyce had many passions in life.  One of her greatest passions was caring and taking care of others.  She had 38 year career as a Register Nurse on the Obstetrics Unit at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac, Michigan.  Her love for family was strong and the greatest joy in her life every day.

Special Thanks to Dr. D. Goodin, Patty Moffet, RN of Hospice of the Bluegrass, the hospice team and the team at Daisy Hill Senior Living who loved and served her well.

Joyce will be remembered through so many memories by all those who knew her. Rest in peace.

Funeral Service will be 6:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2022 at Journey Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
