Obituary of Doris Willard Harrod

Doris Willard Harrod, 90, widow of Thomas Jessie Harrod, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Estil Lee and Evelyn Curry Willard on November 23, 1931. Mrs. Harrod was a secretary at the Cabinet of Health and Family Services and for the Eastern Kentucky University. She was also a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and a genealogist.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Ruth (Tony) Henry, Frankfort; sons, Thomas Jessie (Rita) Harrod, Jr., Frankfort and Stephen Boyd, Frankfort; 14 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and 5 step great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Carrie Elizabeth Willard; brother, Joseph Lewis Willard and her grandchild, Jamie Harrod Hornbeck.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Jason Thomas Harrod, Jamie Anthony Harrod, Stephen Lee Harrod, Jonathon Ray Jennings, Jeremy Whitehouse, and Brian Ruble. Visitation will be from 11:00am on Wednesday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Bluegrass Care Navigators.
