Obituary of Ricky Darrell Elliott

Rick Elliott, 62, of Lexington, KY passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Bluegrass on Friday October 7, 2022 after an illness that was long and well fought. Rick was born on February 2, 1960 to Joseph and Katharine (Harris) Elliott in Covington, Kentucky. After graduation from Laurel County High School in 1978, Rick served in the Air Force at NORAD in Colorado before entering the work force.

Rick became a Licensed Optician in 1991, and worked many happy years among friends at Simpson Optical in Lexington. Rick had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends quickly, especially among those who shared his love of sports. Most of all Rick loved his wife, his daughters, and his grandson.

Rick is survived by his wife of 31 years, Julie (Douglas) Elliott and his daughters Rachel (Christopher) Reynolds, Sarah Elliott, Amanda Elliott, and grandson Mason.

Services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, October 15, 2022, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. A private interment of his ashes will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
