Dr. Evelyn Parrish saved my life.
Literally, Dr. Evelyn Parrish Saved My Life
I spent 7 years, trying to find medicine to help me live with Bipolar1. Meds would work for a few months then stop working. I attempted suicide 3 times, and had to close my business, followed by no driving.
I had my first appointment with Evelyn, approximately 19 years ago. She has not changed the medicine she gave me at the first, visit 19 years ago. Only increasing the dosage and on several occasions she talked about a boot.
Think about this! Seven years of my life was lived as a nonfunctioning person, just thrown away. Now consider I had one appointment with Evelyn and my life was back. First visit, Evelyn gave me a phone number and said I could call her day or night. I called twice, and she answered, immediately. She also called between my weekly appointments to ask if I was ok!!!!! She would stay late at work, if I was having a problem and could not fit me in during the day.
When a visit ended, I would always say “see you, lifesaver” and she would say “try to be good”. Last visit, I said my usual and she said, Carryn, please try to be good, keep exercising, drink less alcohol, and try to remember the things I taught you.
Over the past years, I said thanks so many times and am so glad I did. Dr. Evelyn Parrish you will forever be my hero. Thanks for reading. It was important for me to attempt to honor Evelyn
