Obituary of Dr. Steven Earl Shuey

Dr. Steven (Steve) Earl Shuey, 70, passed away on July 30, 2022 at his home in Lexington, KY, peacefully and in the care of his loving family. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Steven Shuey, whom he loved and missed dearly. Steve was born on May 15, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio to Eugene and Joan Shuey. In addition to his son, he is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tom Shuey and Mark Shuey. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Denise Frey Shuey and daughter Jamie Elizabeth Shuey, sister Connie Struss (Ed), sister Carol Rohde (Tim), brother Gary Shuey and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Tates Creek High School, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Kentucky College of Denistry. He was a dentist in the Lexington community for 40 years and was only semi-retired when he fell ill. Steve was a lifelong athlete and loved coaching baseball. He was a devoted father and husband and will be missed dearly.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 3pm-6pm Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Rd.
