Obituary of LilyAnn Kubicek

LilyAnn Stecher Kubicek, 95, widow of George Kubicek, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey on June 9, 1927 to the late David and Elizabeth Pocsik Stecher. She will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated wife and mother by her children, Andrew (Pam) Kubicek, Leland, North Carolina, Jan Riley, Versailles, Timothy (Sylvia) Kubicek, Clay City and Toni Congleton, Versailles; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kubicek was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. She was an accomplished artist in all types of medium, who studied and taught at the NY School of Art (Art Students League), Ashland Community College, Marshall University and gave private lessons, with many of her paintings acquired by personal and commercial admirers and hanging all over the country. She had a great spirit of adventure, traveling with her husband George and their children when they were young, to many scenic state parks. Her greatest adventure was sailing for 5 years with George on board their 35’ yacht up and down the eastern seaboard. She was blessed with wonderful caregivers, Susan Roe and Alexis Albright; and her Visiting Angels Caregivers: Brittany, Suzy, Sandy and Ina. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen, Jeanette and Rosaland.  She will be remembered by all her nieces and nephews and their children.

Private Graveside Services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford County Humane Society.
