Obituary of Richard Albert Loeffler

Richard Albert Loeffler, age 84, passed away peacefully with loving family at his side on May 10, 2022. He was born February 13, 1938 in Louisville Kentucky to Albert E. Loeffler Jr. and Madeleine Hansen.

He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1961, with a degree in business, and was in the Army reserves from 1960 to 1965.

Richard worked at GTE from 1961 until his retirement in 1993, after which he enjoyed, scuba diving, traveling, volunteering as a bailiff with the Tampa Sheriff’s office, the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, the Lexington Unitarian Universalist Church, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by Donna, his wife of 61 years, his sons, Robert E. (Karen), Andrew R. (Lisa), Hugh H. (Emily), grandchildren Madeleine, Forrest, Emma, Hannah, Amelia, Ruby, his brother Robert H. (Jane), his beloved dog Rudy, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 21st at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 3564 Clays Mill Rd, Lexington Ky, 40503. Visitation 11am, service noon, reception to follow in the fellowship hall.
