Obituary of Joyce White Moore

Richmond - Joyce W. Moore, 87, wife of Harold Moore, passed away on April 11, 2022 in Richmond, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky on November 25, 1934 to the late Thomas and Aetna Zumwalt White. She was retired from Southland Christian Church where she was a bookkeeper for over 30 years. In addition to her husband of sixty-four years, she is survived by two daughters, Lou Shrout and Linda Kay Moore, all of Richmond, sister, Martha Wagoner, of Cynthiana, brother, Tommy White, of Indiana, granddaughter, Whitney (Corey) Hammonds, of Nicholasville, great-grandchildren, Brady Hayes Hammonds and Mayson Keith Hammonds. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Allen Moore, 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Joyce had a very strong faith and spent many years involved with the choir at Southland, Searchers’ Sunday School and Circle Three. She was a dedicated supporter of the AA Women’s Services (Pregnancy Help Center). Joyce adored her family and loved spending time with them. She could often be found in her kitchen, singing Gospel hymns, while she prepared delicious meals for family and friends. She was known for her award-winning chocolate pies. Joyce always had room for one more at her table.

Funeral services will be at 12pm, Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 at Southland Christian Church, Harrodsburg Road, Building A Chapel. Rev. Brewster McLeod will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service beginning at 10am.
