Obituary of Wanda Sue Bethay Flick

Wanda Sue Bethay Flick, age 76, of Lexington Kentucky, was ushered unto her final and eternal home on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

She was born August 6, 1945, to Longino Lawrence and Vera Doris Jones Bethay in Tupelo, Mississippi.

A resident of Lexington, Kentucky for the past twenty years, that she claimed, were the best of her life. She earned a Bachelor’s degree late in life with a BA in Natural Health.  As an accomplished pianist, she spent countless hours in ministry teaching music (Piano), spiritual Christian and nutritional counseling, worked in home health care and worked for the City of Lexington, division of Parks and Recreation in providing services to the Seniors Programs at the historic Bell House. Her endeavors were numerous, and she touched countless lives with her gracious personality and gentle spirit. Her heart was for the lost and hurting and she was always eager to share her faith and encourage others to find truth in Christ. She leaves behind many family and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

She is survived by Sisters, Nancy Bethay Gearheart of Cold Spring, Kentucky, Judy Bethay Rogers of Rogers Arkansas, Debbie Whitaker of DuBois, Pennsylvania, and Carol Ogden of Grove City, Ohio. Sons, Mark Mackey (Susan) of Lexington, Kentucky, John Flick(Meghan) of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Daughters, Amy Flick Salyers of Morton, Illinois, and Jennifer Flick Thomas of Minneapolis, Minnesota. 7 Grandchildren, Abigail Walk, Elizabeth Walk, Joshua Walk, Sara Walk, Josiah Walk, Allison Mackey and Sean Mackey. Numerous nieces and nephews and many other extended family that she loved deeply.

 She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Bethay; brothers, James Bethay and Ronnie Bethay; and a daughter, Robin Mackey Walk.

A Celebration of her Life is scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2022, from 2p to 5p, at the Historic Bell House, 545 Sayre Avenue, Lexington, Kentucky.
