Obituary of Marilyn Gill Harrod

Marilyn Gill Harrod, 62, widow of Abe Harrod, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022. A native of Lexington, she was born on January 18, 1960 to the late Newt and Gladys Snow Gill. Marilyn was a CNA and took care of everyone; she truly loved her job. She loved all animals especially her dogs Cane, Bella, and Molly. She loved her grandchildren and was always cooking big family meals.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Short, Shelbyville and Jennifer (Timothy) Rarden, Frankfort; her son, James “Jimmy” Harrod, Frankfort; her sisters, Joyce (Tom) Chapman, FL and Pat Eton, TN; her brother, Chip (Ann) Gill, Frankfort; and her grandchildren, Austin Grigsby, Skyler James, James “J.J” Harrod, Logan Bryan, Lauren Douglas, Brianna Douglas, and Sarah Harrod.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert “B.J.” Short; her sisters, Rose Walling, Elizabeth Taulbee, and Faye Crawley; and her brother, Donnie Gill.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Pastor Jay Eddington. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd.
