Sandy Stone was my priest, she was my friend and she started me on a spiritual journey that is still ongoing. She taught me about loving others, she taught me about loving me. Her laughter was infectious. It spread everywhere. She was kind to all. She opened up her heart to all. She had a voice like an angel. I loved listening to her sing. Her love of animals mirrored mine. When my mom died in 2007, I was devastated. My mom loved Sandy. Sandy conducted her funeral and opened with “ we are not hear to mourn Nina Carbine, but to celebrate a life well lived.” I’ve never forgotten how comforting that was to me at that time. So Sandy, I won’t mourn you, but I will celebrate the beautiful life you lived and the joy you gave to others. I will miss you, my friend. Heaven has gained an angel. Give my mom a hug, okay?
