Obituary of John Thomas Ethington III

John Thomas Ethington III, 68, husband of Charlet J. Ethington, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021. He was born in Lexington on March 15, 1953 to the late John Thomas and Martha Waits Ethington Jr. He was a stallion groomer for Lanes End Farm for 26 years and a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Beth (Justin Werner) Ethington, Versailles; his son, John T. (Melanie) Ethington IV, Danville; his sister, Alice (John) Bassett, Henderson; his grandchildren, Kathryn DeVore, Madeline Ethington, and Quentin Ethington; as well as his 2 nephews, Adam, and J.T. Farley.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill with Rev. Todd Lester. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Jamie Ethington, Justin Jones, John Ethington IV, Justin Werner, J.T. Farley, Adam Farley, and Quentin Ethington. Honorary casketbearers will be Lanes End Stallion Department. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill on Thursday, December 30, 2021. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church or Hospice Care of the Bluegrass.
