Obituary of Dale Rexford Pankratz

Dale Rexford Pankratz, 76, husband of the late Linda Pomeroy Pankratz, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Lexington, Kentucky. Rex was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 21, 1945 to the late Dale and Margaret Pankratz. Rex worked in manufacturing with Aeroquip from 1971-1989 and then went on to work for Milner Electric from 1989-2011. Rex was a proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War. 

Rex is survived by his daughters, Meridith "Meri" (Steve) Mitchell, Frankfort, and Elizabeth "Liz" (Jason) Crump, Lexington; his sister, Judy Freck, Winter Heaven, FL; his brother-in-law, Andrew Pomeroy, Birmingham, AL; and his grandchildren, Emily Crump, Riley Mitchell, and Reid Mitchell.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Rex was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Phil Freck. 

Rex was beloved by his family and all those he encountered. He was a fair manager, true friend, and a devoted father. He had a quick wit and infectious personality. His legacy will live on with his grandchildren and the numerous friendships he has established through out his 76 years of life.

A Gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5pm-7pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Rex will be privately laid to rest by his family at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Heart Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Woodford Humane Society.
