Obituary of Phyllis Anne Savage Masters

Phyllis Anne Savage Masters, 97, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in Lexington, Kentucky. The widow of Albert F. Masters, Jr, Phyllis was born August 6, 1924, to the late David F. and Rada Burford Savage in Charleston, West Virginia. She was a former Home Service Advisor for Houston Natural Gas, a member of Troy Presbyterian Church in Versailles, Alpha Delta Gamma sorority, and the Kentucky State Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 50 years. Phyllis also held the great honor of being a Kentucky Colonel. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, Phyllis was a giving and kindhearted person who enjoyed volunteering at the Alzheimer's Association in Lexington, knitted baby caps for community hospitals, and enjoyed making rugs for her friends.  A resident of Wesley Village in Wilmore, Kentucky for 17 years, the family is so grateful to the staff and fellow residents for the care and compassion they showed to Phyllis.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Albert F. Masters, III of Greenville, South Carolina and her granddaughter, Ashley Anne Masters of Raleigh, North Carolina.

In addition to her husband, Albert F. Masters, Jr and parents, David F. and Rada Burford Savage, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Carol Parker Masters.   

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date at Troy Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be sent to Troy Presbyterian Church, 11021 Troy Pike, Versailles, KY 40383.
